Are you a pirate?
In October 2010, Tech Crunch founder Michael Arrington published his inspiring blogpost “Are you a pirate?”, in which he defined key characteristics of a specific type of founder whose central motivation is not the pay-off, but rather the adventure of founding itself.

Four students and four reputable individuals from the German founders’ community decided that yes, they were pirates and even more importantly, they recognized the lack of a sustainable “pirate network”. The “European Pirate Summit” aims to bring together like-minded entrepreneurs for an exchange of information, opinions, and experiences in a comfortable atmosphere.
